Police Still Searching for Thief Who Stole Florissant Woman's Car With Baby Inside

While police were able to rescue the baby safely, the suspect got away on foot and hasn't yet been located.

After a Florissant woman’s car was stolen with her baby inside in North City Tuesday evening, police were able to rescue 1-year-old Aniya Davis unharmed within moments.  A police officer who happened to be around the corner saw the suspect steal the vehicle and gave chase immediately.

Her mother, Tiara Smith, 21, had left Aniya in her car seat while she went into a gas station.

Though the thief crashed the car, the baby wasn’t hurt—but the thief got away on foot.

St. Louis City Police are still searching for the suspect.
