Police: North County Man Shoots at Another Man After Fight Over Girl

Eric V. Rogers has been charged with first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

Police arrested a North County man who shot at another man following a fight over a girl, according to a press release.

The St. Louis County prosector’s office charged Eric V. Rogers, 23 of the 3000 block of Willow Creek Estates in St. Louis County, with first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

Rogers shot at a 32-year-old man Monday with a gun outside the driver’s side window of his car while chasing the man down New Halls Ferry Road, according to St. Louis County police. The shot shattered the rear passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle.

Police saw Rogers running through backyards of his subdivision and were able to catch and arrest him. The gun was found in a car at his house.

Both men dated the same girl at some point and had fought earlier, according to an earlier report.

A $100,000 cash bond has been set.
