North County Residents Left to Deal with Storm Aftermath

We captured the problems left following a EF-3 tornado barreled through North County.

As it seems power has been restored to a majority of North County residents, the clean-up of Friday’s storms has only just begun.

Several businesses sustained damage to their business as well as tree limbs came down in a number of area neighborhoods. The National Weather Service identified EF-3 tornadoes cutting from St. Charles County through the North County area and into Illinois.

The Red Cross continues to keep the James J. Eagan Center open as a shelter area for those in need. Monday, several North County residents returned to the facility not for sleep but for food, according to Red Cross volunteers. More than 100 had been expected for dinner Monday evening.

Monday, Patch toured areas heavily affected by Friday’s storm and captured it in photos.
