North County Man Stole Firearm, Sold Gun to Drug Dealer, Police Say

The man stole the handgun in unincorporated St. Louis County north of Bellefontaine Neighbors, police said.

A North County man, charged with stealing a firearm, told police he sold the handgun to a drug dealer in East St. Louis.

Terrance L. McCaleb Jr, 20, of the 6800 block of Culpepper Court in North County, was charged Jan. 9 with stealing a firearm. McCaleb lives in unincorporated St. Louis County east of Black Jack.

St. Louis County Police said McCaleb stole a .40 cal Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol at about 9 a.m. March 24 in the 1100 block of Wiskow Drive north of Bellefontaine Neighbors.

Police said McCaleb told them he sold the handgun to an East St. Louis drug dealer. The firearm was recovered from the drug dealer named by McCaleb.

McCaleb was released from custody Jan. 17 after posting 10 percent of a $10,000 bond.
