North County Man Charged With Four Armed Robberies in Florissant, North County

A North County man is accused of several January and February robberies in St. Louis County and Florissant.

Joshua Cosby, 20, of the 12000 block of Verwood Drive east of Black Jack, was charged Monday with one count of first-degree robbery, three counts of first-degree attempted robbery and five counts of armed criminal action. No bond has been issued.

Two of the robberies occurred back-to-back on Feb. 23, police said.

On Feb. 23, St. Louis County Police Department officers responded to a robbery at Dollar General in the 6800 block of Parker Road. As officers responded, a second robbery was reported in the 12200 block of Chesapeake, just behind the business.

On Chesapeake, Cosby approached a woman as she exited her vehicle, police said. He showed her a firearm and demanded her property before fleeing, according to a St. Louis County Police news release.

An investigation by officers in the North County Precinct determined that the incident was connected to other armed robberies on the street and in businesses in North County.

Police from the Florissant and St. Louis County police departments identified Cosby as a suspect, and he was arrested by Florissant Police Department detectives Feb. 28.

Cosby was charged Feb. 29 for three first-degree robberies in Florissant.

Eight of the 10 charges against Cosby issued Monday were St. Louis County Police Department cases, with two being Florissant Police Department cases.

Cosby is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center.
