North County Convict Charged With Possessing Firearms

A North County man who had been convicted of two felonies earlier this year now is charged with possessing a firearm.

Donald A. Maul, 26, of the 6600 block of Foxshire Drive in unincorporated North County east of Black Jack, was charged June 1 with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.

St. Louis County Police said they pulled a car over May 31 at McLaran Avenue and Granada Place in Jennings and found a 9mm Luger. Police said Maul said the handgun was his.

Police also found a .380 Bryco Adams handgun in Maul’s home during a search after the traffic stop.

Maul pleaded guilty Jan. 24 to theft and possession of marijuana in Manchester. He is on probation for those convictions.

Maul is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $25,000.
