Mechanical Failure Causes Accident on I-270
A Florissant man's truck leads to a three-car accident Monday morning.
A Florissant man was involved in a serious car accident with two other cars on Interstate 270 Monday.
Thimas James, of Florissant, drove his 2000 Freightliner on the highway when a mechanical failure didn’t allow him to stop the truck before approaching traffic and crashed into a 2010 Nissan Altima, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
The impact of the crash also caused the Altima to strike a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu.

The accident caused the driver of the Malibu, Tynia Mitchell, to be taken to DePaul Hospital.
All drivers, but Mitchell, wore a seat belt, according to the report.
