Man Leads Police on High-Speed Chase With 3-Year-Old in Car

Florissant Police said the child was not in a car seat, and the man was driving with his license revoked.

A man led Florissant Police on a high-speed chase Feb. 24, running red lights and passing on the left into oncoming traffic, all with a 3-year-old child in the car.

Daryl Greer, 20, of the 9700 block of Dennis Drive in North County, was charged Feb. 24 with first-degree endangering a child, resisting arrest and driving while revoked.

Florissant Police said an officer tried to pull Greer’s car over for careless and imprudent driving at Washington Street and eastbound Interstate 270. Greer fled at a high speed, passing cars by swerving into oncoming traffic and running red lights, according to a court document.

When Greer stopped, the officer saw a 3-year-old child in the car without a car seat and discovered Greer’s license had been revoked.

Greer also has been charged with burglary and felony theft for stealing computers from Mark Twain Student Support Center at 1555 Derhake Road on Jan. 5. He was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury on the burglary and theft charges Feb. 20.

Greer is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail for the Feb. 24 charges was set at $25,000.
