Updated: Man Hit Store Clerk With Crowbar Several Times, Florissant Police Say

David Dean Mizerski was charged Thursday with first-degree assault and armed criminal action in the incident at 7-Eleven in Florissant.

A man hit a 7-Eleven clerk multiple times with a crowbar Thursday at the store at 900 Shackelford Road in Florissant.

David Dean Mizerski, 45, of the 12700 block of St. Charles Rock Road in Bridgeton, was charged Thursday with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

Florissant Police spokesman Andy Haarman said Mizerski became enraged when his credit card was declined. He went back out to his vehicle, got a crowbar and attacked the man.

Florissant Police said the clerk had several injuries and required staples to close cuts in his head.

Mizerski is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $50,000.
