Man, Child Hit Crossing Howdershell Road in Florissant

A man and his 8-year-old daughter were crossing near Flordawn when a car making a turn onto Howdershell Road hit them.

A man and his daughter were hit by a car Tuesday night. They were crossing Howdershell Road when they realized a car was coming toward them.

Florissant Police Department spokesman Andy Haarmann said the man and his 8-year-old daughter were crossing Howdershell Road in the area near Bank of America and Walgreens at about 7:15 p.m. when a car made a right turn onto the road from Flordawn and hit them.

Haarmann said both pedestrians were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

The person driving the vehicle stayed at the scene and spoke with police. He told officers he did not see the man or his daughter when preparing to turn.
