Man Charged With Burglarizing Friend's Florissant Home

Florissant Police said Keita Brooks broke into a home on Monterey Drive.

A Ferguson man is accused of breaking into a Florissant home of an acquaintance, police said.

Keita A. Brooks, 38, of the 1100 block of Highmont Drive in Ferguson, was charged Wednesday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing.

Florissant Police said Brooks broke into a home in the 200 block of Monterey Drive in Florissant on June 26, 2012. Police said he stole a flat-screen television and a Wii game system.

According to a court document, Brooks told police he knew the resident wasn’t home and he needed the money.

Brooks is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $15,000 and he is barred from contacting the victim.
