Man Burglarizes Stores Owned by Same Businessman on Consecutive Nights

Florissant Police said the man smashed through doors in both businesses, stole liquor, a cash register and cash.

A man burglarized two Florissant stores owned by the same man on consecutive nights, police said.

Florissant Police said that Marqual R. McGee, 21, of the 500 block of South New Florissant Road, broke into the Florissant Kwik Shop, 1253 Dunn Road, at 2:20 a.m. Nov. 1. He stole six 1.75 liter bottles of vodka, police said.

The next night, he broke into Gabi’s Liquor at 710 South New Florissant Road and stole a cash register valued at $1,000 and $50 to $60 in cash, police reported.

Both times, he got into the store by smashing out the door, police said.

A store employee who saw the video surveillance tapes suggested a regular customer might be responsible because he resembled the burglar.

Florissant Police said McGee confessed to both burglaries after he was arrested.

McGee was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, felony theft and misdemeanor theft. Bail was set at $15,000.
