Man Assaulted Man In Ferguson, Breaking Eye Socket, Police Say

Ferguson Police said Darione Thomas and three others jumped out of a car on Airport Road and beat the man, who had been walking with a friend.

A St. Louis man is accused of beating another man in Ferguson along with three accomplices, breaking a bone in the man’s eye socket, police said.

Darione Maurice Thomas, 21, of the 2800 block of Partridge Avenue in the city of St. Louis, was charged Friday with first-degree assault.

Ferguson Police said the man was walking April 27 on Airport Road with a friend when Thomas and three other men jumped out of a car and hitting the man multiple times.

Police said the victim suffered a broken orbital socket, which required surgery.

Thomas is being held in Saline County jail. Bail was set at $25,000.

Thomas pleaded guilty April 23 to possession of a controlled substance in Saline County. He was sentenced to seven years in jail, but was given a suspended sentence and placed on probation. Police said he assaulted the man in Ferguson four days later.
