Man Arrested for Officer Shooting Has Criminal Background

Brian Cannon Jr. has pleaded guilty to two other counts of burglary and stealing in other St. Louis communities.

On Dec. 17, 2010, he pleaded guilty to two counts each of burglary and stealing, one in Ladue and one in Clayton, according to court records. He was sentenced to seven years in prison, given a suspended imposition of sentence, 120 days shock sentence in jail and placed on five years probation.Β Therefore, he remains on probation currently.

Previously, he stole two laptop computers in Clayton with Cortez Dennis earlier in April 2010, according to the records. One month prior, he and another person stole a microwave in Ladue.

Cannon was charged Monday with charges of assault in the first-degree of a law enforcement officer, armed criminal action and second-degree burglary.
