Lincoln County Crash Leaves Florissant Man Injured

William R. Burns received moderate injuries in the crash.

A Florissant man suffered moderate injuries on the Fourth of July in an accident in Lincoln County.

William Burns, 71 of Florissant, drove a 1996 Toyota Corolla and traveled north on Route 79 when he attempted to make a left turn on Route 47, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol report.

The report said upon Burns attempting to make the turn, a 2001 Chevy Silverado driving southbound swerved to avoid striking him.

The cars collided in the front portion of each car. Both drivers wore seat belts.

Burns was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment of his injuries by air ambulance.
