Florissant Teen Helped Burglarize Neighbor's Home, Police Say

Florissant Police said Cody Garcia-Mauer acted as a lookout as another person broke into the home

An 18-year-old Florissant man faces criminal charges after police said he participated in a burglary at his neighbor’s home March 15.

Cody Garcia-Mauer, 18, of the 2100 block of Crane Drive in Florissant, was charged Wednesday with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor stealing.

Florissant Police said Garcia-Mauer acted as a lookout as another person broke into a house in the 2100 block of Crane Drive near Garcia-Mauer’s home on March 15. Police said a television and other items were stolen.

Garcia-Mauer was being held Thursday in Florissant jail. Bail was set at $15,000.

Cody looks like another boy that I just watched on the Dr, Phil show. The thing that will maybe change these kids attitude is to visit a prison. Here they can learn from inmates what there life will be like if they don't change it.

KEEP him in jail! As you can see, nothing good will become of him, he's an idiot...he robs a home on HIS block! Look-out=THIEF!

This is my boyfriend's son. This is the first time he has been in trouble with the law. His father and I are good friends with the people he robbed from. His father is very upset that his son done this to these people that watched him grow from toddler to an adult. The neighbors have nothing against my boyfriend or I but they are very disappointed in Cody. Like I said this the first time Cody has been in any kind of trouble with the law. The other person who is involved in the crime has fled the state. Cody has not asked his parents for any kind of help to bail him out of jail. He has told his father I know what I did was wrong and I have to pay for my dumb decision even if it means I have to sit in jail for a long time. Does that sound like a person who is in trouble with police all the time?

It's the first time he's been caught, but odds are he has done stuff like this before.
