July Crime: Florissant Robberies Go Down, Stealing Incidents Increase

We're comparing last month's numbers to the 2011 July crime numbers.

The month of July saw some highs and lows in the area of crime for the City of Florissant.

While robberies and burglaries decreased in the month of July from the same time last year, stealing and vehicle thefts increased slightly, according to the monthly crime data.

In 2011, three robberies and 21 burglaries occurred during the month of July, but this year there were no robberies and 15 burglaries. The number of car thefts increased by five from the same time last year, with a total of 12 happening this past month.

In stealing offenses, the month saw a sizeable increase from 47 in 2011 to 71 this year. Property damage offenses increased by six from July 2011, too.

The monthly reports are compiled and released by the Florissant Police Department.
