Burglars have been stealing electronics and other valuables from homes in the area.

A second-degree burglary occurred in the 600 block of Shadowrock. Police found that the burglar entered through the rear door, according to the report. Nothing was taken.

Someone stole a red Craftsman mower out of the backyard in the 100 block of Manor Dr.

A woman’s apartment was burglarized and she was assaulted in the 3100 block or Sir Christopher. The burglar entered through an open bedroom window and confronted the resident. The burglar hit the resident with a hammer, and then she wrestled it away from him. Police weren’t able to find the burglar. The woman was taken to Depaul Hospital, where she was treated and released.

May 11

Police responded to a second-degree burglary in the 100 block of Rissant. Two televisions were stolen, according to the report.

A burglar stole two TVs, two laptops, a Playstation 3 and handheld Playstation game system. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Grenoble, and he entered through a kitchen sliding door. A neighbor noticed someone entering the residence but didn’t call the police, according to the report.

May 12

Police responded to a second-degree burglary in the 2300 block of Love. Someone entered through a rear window and stole money, jewelry, a Playstation and other items. The burglar or burglars exited through the rear sliding door.

A burglary occurred in the 100 block of St. Celeste. The burglar broke open a window and unlocked the back door. The person stole a flat-screen TV and Wii game. The resident was on vacation during the burglary, according to the report.
