A neighbor attempted a burglary of a next-door residence last week.

Jan. 9

Police responded to a case of felony stealing in the 1100 block of North Highway 67. The thief or thieves had broken into two cars on a shopping center parking lot. One car’s window was broken while the lock of the other was “punched,” according to the police report. Purses that held wallets and credit cards were stolen.

A second-degree burglary occurred in the 200 block of Duquette. While the resident left to walk their dog, the burglar entered through an unlocked carport door and stole jewelry. 

A car was stolen in the 1500 block of Springlet Court. A 2008 Suzuki GSXR 600 motorcycle was taken from a parking lot of overnight.

Jan. 12

Police responded to three separate attempts to steal cars overnight. According to the police report, all three door locks had been “punched,” and two cars had the steering column damaged. All three were a Dodge Stratus, and the locations were the 1200 block of Lindsay, 600 block of Rosetta and the 3100 block of Carefree.

Police arrested a 46-year-old man who attempted to burglarize his next-door neighbor in the 1st block of Brackleigh. The resident woke up and found the neighbor in their home and searching through closets. The suspect entered through an unlocked door in the home. Warrants have been sought.
