As the summer heats up, so do some local crimes.

June 1

Police responded to the report of a case of arson in the first block of Florval Dr. A small fire had been intentionally set in the back of the residence. The resident called police after discovering it. No suspects have been named.

Another case of arson was reported in after the playground equipment near the lake had been destroyed by fire. Florissant police said the investigation is ongoing and have no evidence at the time that the two incidents of arson had any relation.

 June 6 

Police responded to a second-degree burglary in the 900 block of Marrisa Dr. The rear door of the residence was forced open, and money and jewelry were taken. No suspects have been announced.

Another second-degree burglary took place in the 3000 block of Durwood Dr. Thieves forced open the rear door and took a laptop and two gaming systems from the residence. Police have not announced any suspects. 

Police responded to a report of an air conditioner being stolen from a vacant residence in the 1700 block of Marshall Ct.
