Several burglaries and car break-ins happened in the past week.

Sept. 23

Someone attempted to burglarize a business in the 13800 block of New Halls Ferry. The burglar attempted to force open the front door but could not gain entry, according to the report.

The police responded to a burglary in the 900 block of Thompson. The burglar broke the rear window to an apartment and stole an Xbox console.

Sept. 24

Police responded to a car theft in the 500 block of Aubuchon. According to the report, a 2004 Dodge Ram four-door pick-up truck was stolen.

Sept. 25

A thief stole a white 1995 Dodge Neon in the 4000 block of Calavera.

Someone stole a car in the 2300 block of Dove. A blue 2007 Ford Mustang with white stripes was reported stolen.

Sept. 26

Two separate copper pipe thefts took place in the 1600 block of Verlene as well as the 1400 block of Balmoral. Police indicated both residences were vacant, according to the report.

A second-degree burglary took place in the 1300 block of Charbonier. According to the police report, multiple suspects entered the home by forcing open a side door and stole liquor and change.

Police responded to a burglary in the 300 block of Jana. Burglars entered the home by breaking a rear window, according to the report. Burglars took change.

A man attempted a first-degree burglary in the 200 block of St. Patrick. The man broke a window in the basement and quickly fled on foot after hearing the resident yell. Police describe the man as being between 18 and 20 years old, 5 foot, 10 inches and a slender build.

Police responded to a series of property damages between the 2100 and 200 block of Flight. Someone broke the windows of three cars with a BB or pellet gun, according to the report.

Sept. 28

A second-degree burglary took place in the 1600 block of Marshall Court. A burglar broke the basement window of the residence and stole a flat screen TV.

Sept. 29

Police responded to a car theft as well as several incidents of theft from cars in the same vicinity overnight. Someone stole a 1999 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck from the 1000 block of Sherman. In the 1100 block of Sherman, someone stole a stereo out of a parked car. There was also a laptop taken from a car in the 2600 block of Dove. According to the report, none of the cars had been locked.
