Florissant Police Arrest Two, Ticket 35 in DWI Saturation Patrol

Four Florissant police officers did their first patrols of the program for this year this past weekend.

A Florissant DWI saturation patrol held this past weekend in Florissant netted three arrests and 35 tickets.

Police arrested two men for felony driving while intoxicated charges, and the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office issued warrants Saturday for the arrests. The third arrest was the result of a suspended driver's license.

John Trupiano, of Florissant, and Owen Tross Jr., of St. Louis, were both stopped for traffic violations and later arrested for DWIs, according to a press release from the Florissant Police Department. It is the seventh alcohol-related arrest for Trupiano and the twelfth for Tross.

Florissant police spokesman Andy Haarman said that this was the first patrol done for this year. The patrol consists of four police officers patrolling through Florissant looking for drivers who have been drinking.

The extra patrols are thanks to a grant provided by the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Department of Highway Safety. Haarman said that the department could look to do more of them once or twice a month until the grant funds are completely used.
