Florissant Orthodontist Notifies Clients of Possible Data Breach After Burglary

Olson & White Orthodontics, located at 1265 Graham Rd., has been notifying its customers of a possible data breach stemming from a burglary about one month ago.
The office, which also has a St. Charles County location in O'Fallon has informed 10,000 people heir personal information could be compromised because of a break-in and burglary on July 22, according to a St. Louis Post Dispatch article.
The burglars took computers containing personal data, including patient health information, according to Armstrong Teasdale, the medical facility's attorney.
The law firm said it was not aware of any personal information being stolen or used. Federal health privacy laws requires patients to be informed of a possible loss or misuse of personal data within 60 days.
