Florissant June Crime Numbers: Increases Seen in Many Categories

While a number of burglaries decreased from June 2011 compared to the same month this year, other crimes have seen increases across the board.

For this past June, there were 17 burglaries compared to 28 last year, but there were 72 stealing offenses committed compared to 41 incidents last year. Many of the stealing incidents related to 22 shoplifting events compared and 15 reports of stealing from a car, according to the ’s monthly report.

Thirty-three property damage incidents happened during the past month compared to 28 one year ago as well as 10 car thefts compared to eight last year.
