Florissant Crime Statistics Follow National Downward Trend
As crime nationwide lessens, Florissant keeps up in a lower rate, according to the latest FBI statistics.

Crime decreased almost across the board for Florissant in 2010 compared to 2009 in the FBI statistics.
Nationally, trends in crime from murder to arson decreased by 6 percent comparably in the past year.

For Florissant, motor vehicle theft and arson increased, while all other crimes, including violent crime, decreased.

More than 18,000 law enforcement agencies from across the country reported their numbers to the bureau for inclusion in this report.
Previously, Sergeant Kevin Boschert of the credited the Neighborhood Watch Program for the decreasing trend in the past year.
"I do believe that at the beginning of the year most experts were predicting an upward trend, but the trend has proven the opposite," Boschert said.
With more than halfway through 2011, the crime trend for Florissant looks to be lower than 2010.
According to Florissant Police Department statistics through the month of July, there have been 18 robberies, 122 burglaries, 59 vehicle thefts and 153 cases of property damage.
