Florissant Copper Thefts Increase, Public Help Wanted

The Florissant Police Department is asking residents to keep an eye out for possible copper thieves.

Copper thefts are on the rise throughout the city in vacant homes, according to a department press release.

Police said thieves have broken into vacant homes, taken out the home's copper pipes and sold the pipe to scrap yards.

Police are asking residents to be aware of vacant homes in their area and watch for people who may pose as workers in the property.
