Didn’t Get True Religion: Inmate Charged With Stealing Clothes from Saks, Police Say

Frontenac Police said a Florissant man and others stole 27 pair of True Religion jeans and five pair of True Religion shorts, valued at a total of $7,689.

A Florissant man currently in prison for stealing is accused of stealing True Religion jeans and shorts from Saks Fifth Avenue at Plaza Frontenac.

Robert A. Floyd, 23, of the 2900 block of Aberdeen Drive in Florissant, was charged Friday with felony stealing.

Frontenac Police said Floyd, acting with others, stole 27 pair of True Religion jeans and five pair of True Religion shorts Sept. 16 from Saks Fifth Avenue at Plaza Frontenac. The clothing was valued at a total of $7,689.

Police said a security officer saw Floyd and others on video stealing and driving away from the store. The security officer identified Floyd in a photo lineup.

Floyd was sentenced to three years in prison March 14 after pleading guilty to a stealing charge in Kirkwood. When he was arrested, he had been on probation after pleading guilty to stealing as a third offense on a charge in Maplewood.

He had served a one-year sentence after pleading guilty in 2009 to stealing in Richmond Heights.

Floyd is being held in the Eastern Reception Diagnostic & Correctional Center in Bonne Terre.
