Looking to volunteer!

Does anyone know of any local non profit organizations for gardening and growing food? I would like to volunteer to help maintain and teach others about planting and maintaining vegetable/fruit gardens in the Florissant area. I found some located in the city but was curious if we had anything local. I think it would be a positive and fun resource for residents to educate themselves and do something outside.
