Friday Food Critic: DeLeo's Deli and Cafe

Each week, we nominate a new restaurant for you to review. That's right, you're the local expert.

When it comes to restaurants, Florissant has it covered.

We have some great local places that many would consider community gems; we have some restaurants that aren't exactly mom-and-pop but are unique to the area; and we certainly—for better or for worse—have plenty of chains lining our main streets.

But what we don't have is a consistent food critic to tell us what's good and what's not.

That's where you come in.

We could throw some money at a professional food critic, but that's not exactly what Patch is all about. We'd much rather know the opinion of the fine folks that eat there day-in and day-out.

It's your community. You eat the food. You tell us if it passes the mark.

That's why we are introducing  column, where each week we will put a different restaurant on the chopping block. You tell us how you feel about it, what dishes are good, who has the best drink specials and so forth.

This week's restaurant is , a traditional Italian deli that offers a wide selection of sandwiches, salads and wraps. .

, simply click on their name (or ). You'll be directed toward their community listing in our places directory, where you can rate them on a five-star system or write a personal review.

Here's what , a Florissant Patch reader, had to say about :

My family and I tried DeLeo's for breakfast this past weekend for the first time and it was great. We usually we visit one of the local breakfast "chain" places but we decided to try DeLeo's, after all we knew they served a great lunch but could breakfast be just as good. Well it was fantastic! My wife and daughters had the You Direct Omlet, the grandchildren had Kids French Toast and The Fantastic Four breakfast.

At Florissant Patch, we believe your words of wisdom are better than any food critic.

What are you waiting for? Let the reviewing begin!

We ate there Sunday and it was pretty good. The food was great tasting. I had the Pastrami and it was packed mile high. Just the right condiments on the sandwich too. NOT overbearing. Nice clean place also. Employers were all pleasant and smiling. Served the food fast, also. Rate Five
