Education – In 2000, Redditt Hudson founded Project Peace, an organization which addresses issues of accountability and responsibility for students in high schools and in communities.  Early childhood education must be properly funded, says Redditt.  The best crime-fighting tool is early childhood education.  Every child must have access to education early.  You must create stable neighborhoods throughout the region and you will improve public schools.  We have to create quality schools right here where they live.  Children shouldn’t have to be transferred or bused somewhere else to learn.   Charter schools aren’t better than our public schools.  Legislators who find a way to take more resources away from public education every year will be challenged by Redditt Hudson.

Home Foreclosures – North county neighborhoods are among those hardest hit.  Redditt’s opponent discovered this problem as she was leaving office in 2010.  Of course by then the problem was 3 years old.  Not to mention it was occurring in the district she represented.

Leadership – A trained leader – 2010 graduate of the prestigious LEADERSHIP ST. LOUIS® (LSL) program - one of the most highly-respected leadership development programs in the nation.  Redditt Hudson has empowered targeted communities to protect their residents by teaching them about their civil rights and training them to interact safely and effectively with police officers.  Redditt Hudson knows how to do the right thing without being told.  After all, he spearheaded the initiative and successfully achieved the naming of University High School Gym after former coach, Edward Crenshaw.

Legislative Experience – Redditt Hudson’s position at ACLU calls on him to challenge many regulations that disenfranchise people.   He is a regular media commentator on criminal justice and racial justice issues. He has traveled the country speaking at statewide events, at national conferences for the ACLU, NAACP, offering legislative testimony, and keynoting other events focused on criminal justice and racial justice issues. Redditt’s debate experience will be an asset when elected State Senate for 13th District.

Safety – Redditt Hudson, a former St Louis City police officer, left the force in 1999 and devoted himself to addressing issues of police misconduct and to searching for ways to improve police-community relations.  The Missouri House owes all of us an apology. The nonsense they have been wasting time and our tax dollars on this year is beyond comprehension. Most of what they want to pass is unconstitutional, violates federal law or worse. And they know that.

Senior Citizens - Challenging a health care law that has already afforded coverage to millions of previously uninsured Americans is absurd.  Redditt Hudson supports the Affordable Health Care Act and will help President Obama’s agenda.

Voter Suppression – The GOP is working to disenfranchise voters while costing MO tax-payers millions.  Redditt’s opponent supports this idea.

Women Rights – Missouri’s top legislators really do dwell, figuratively, under a rock. Do they really think the topic of sexual orientation can be expunged from classrooms and hallways and consigned to the family dinner table?  Couple that with the notion that blind people no longer deserve state-provided health care.  Redditt Hudson supports access to birth control without discrimination or additional co-pays; access to medically accurate, comprehensive sex education for our youth; and keeping decisions about pregnancy personal, because these decisions are just not that simple.  Redditt says, “I am for women being treated equally in all our processes and having equal access to opportunities.  I’ve learned by standing up for the rights of people in our community that the fight for justice, equality, and inclusion is never easy, but it’s worth the fight.”
