Justice Will Be Done

Willard's idea of "No Apology" has cost his any chance of becoming president.

President Obama, Vice President Biden, and Secretary of State sent one profound message today: “Justice Will Be Done.”  Apparently Mitt Romney’s campaign didn’t get the message.

Mitt Romney has always accused President Obama of being a weak leader.  Funny assessment considering that he’s had 5 different positions on Libya as of October 2011.

Before news spread that four Americans had been killed in Benghazi, Romney issued a statement saying in part:  “It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”  During an early morning press conference, Romney doubled down and repeated this attack and added “It’s a terrible course for America to stand in apology for our values.”  Romney wasn’t the only one – Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus tweeted “Obama sympathizes with attackers in Egypt.  Sad and pathetic.”

“The evidence that the president “sympathizes with attackers in Egypt” does not in any way exist.

President Obama has given the order to step up diplomatic security.  A group of Marines called a Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team who is specially trained to retake or guard diplomatic installations and other U.S. facilities in troubled regions.  About 50 Marines were headed to Tripoli and could deploy elsewhere in Libya after their arrival.  Two U.S. Navy warships equipped with Tomahawk missiles are moving toward Libyan coast.

“Romney blew it and revealed how seriously maladroit he is when it comes to foreign affairs and national security.  An attack on an Embassy, the murder of U.S. officials including an Ambassador, is an attack on all Americans and the idea of America – and Romney gave terrorist what they want – a divided country still torn emotionally and politically by the events of 9-11.” ~ Steve Clemons

One Republican security veteran said Romney had reacted precipitously without knowing all the facts in an effort to score political points and missed badly.  John McCain, the party’s 2008 presidential nominee, wrote that the response of Romney and others who had condemned Obama in the wake of the killings was “as tortured in its reasoning as it is unseemly in its timing.”  Obama, said Romney “seems to have a tendency to shoot first, aim later,” and called the episode a “broader lesson” about being commander in chief.

Yeah, Mr. Willard Mitt Romney has proven to everyone today that he doesn’t deserve to be the president.
