America’s “Freedom of Speech” Refuels Middle East Violent Attacks

Words have consequences. You can't yell "Fire" in a crowded theater and after the assassination of Ambassador Stevens, anti-Islamic hate rhetoric should be banned.

The anti-Islam film “Innocence of Muslims” had nothing to do with Ambassador Stevens’ demise.  This is why impetuous candidates like Mitt Romney shouldn’t meddle in Foreign Affairs.  President Obama said “Mitt Romney wants to shoot first and aim later.”  The majority of American people are now concluding that Mitt Romney is not ready to be president because of his “No Apology” tenacity and his blunder of doubling down without knowing the facts.

The bluff: “Egypt is not an ally of U.S., but not an enemy” ~ President Obama

On June 24, 2012, Mohamed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s dominant Islamist group, was declared the winner of the country’s first competitive presidential elections.  Mr. Morsi’s outreach to Iran and other moves raised concerns in the Obama administration.  Morsi’s subsequent mild rebuke of the rioters caused President Obama to make a blunt phone call and “warned that relations would be jeopardized if Egyptian authorities failed to protect diplomats and stand more against anti-American attacks.”  Today, Egyptian leaders scrambled to try to repair the country’s alliance with Washington.

The protests in Egypt are not related to the armed assault on the consulate in Benghazi “Libya’s” attack.  They were, however, used as a cloak.

Quilliam Foundation in London told CNN, “An attack like this would likely have required preparation.  This would not seem to be merely a protest which escalated.”  Another Libyan official told CNN that five radical Islamist militant commanders were operating in the Derna area, with 200 to 300 men under their command.  Ambassador Christopher Stevens warned of jihadist sentiment growing in Derna in 2008.  He referred to their temperament to be equaled to Bruce Willis movie “Die Hard in America.”  The groups have claimed responsibility for the attack on the International Red Cross off in Benghazi and for detonating an explosive device outside the U.S. Consulate.  Videos are released to support their claims.

Generating little interest when it was first posted in July on YouTube, the clip “Innocence of Muslims” received global attention after it was aired on Egyptian television and anti-Islam activists promoted it online.  After days of protesting over the film, demonstrators now chant “Death to America” and “We condemn the film.”

An American Ambassador has been killed in the line of duty.  Secretary Clinton said this was an attack by a small and savage group.  One 14 minute video clip expressing an American’s freedom of speech has been used as a cloak by jihadist and has refueled violence in the Middle East.
