Abortion: Private or Government Decision

Republicans want government to expand and start interfering with women private decisions.

In a Christian perfect world, men and women would abstain from having sex until marriage. The couple would decides to have a family, the mother would get pregnant and give birth to a child.

Although, pregnancy results most frequently out of loving relationships, there are however, instances such as rape and incest that create unwanted pregnancies. 

The Supreme Court rendered a decision in Roe v. Wade regarding abortions, but that decision remains contested and is the subject of debate.

Getting ready for the general election, the Republicans platform recognized a fertilized egg as a person and recently ruled that women could not get an abortion regardless of rape, incest, or to save the mother’s life. Marc Rubio argues that a fertilized egg is more valuable than the mother’s life. VP nominee Congressman Paul Ryan agrees. Regrettably, Mitt Romney has been for and against abortion during his campaign. The 2012 Republican platform has single handedly awaken a sleeping giant. 

A Philadelphia-based evangelistic organization issued a news release stating that Mitt Romney must bow out of his bid for president.

Ann Coulter, a Republican pundit, said, "if we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat president. We’ll pay for healthcare and tuition and day care — and here, what else can we give you, soccer moms?”   

The Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision created the opportunity for abortions to be safe, legal, and accessible.  Women choosing to have an abortion will return to the dark alleys of yesterday to obtain this medical procedure if Roe v Wade is not upheld. 

Decisions regarding abortion are private and it doesn't matter how the pregnancy occurred.  A woman should have the right to choose this medical procedure.  The decision is between the woman and God.
