theft
.

Secure Your ID Day
will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.,
Saturday, October 5 at two locations in the metro area:  Arsenal Credit Union at 8651 Watson Road in
Webster Groves and Lowes Home Improvement at 3180 N Highway 67 in Florissant. The
events will take place on the parking lot.

October is Secure
Your Identity Month, which was founded to bring attention to the
growing ID theft crisis and to help consumers protect their own identities. Credit
counseling agencies, like ClearPoint, are seeing more and more clients who
experience ensuing credit difficulties as a result of ID theft. For the thirteenth

year in a row, ID theft was also the subject most frequently complained about
by consumers to the Federal
Trade Commission
(FTC). The FTC reports that complaints about
identity theft increased 3% in 2012 and represent nearly one-fifth of the
entire number of complaints received by the agency.

Participating partners in this event include: Cintas
Document Management, RNA Worldwide Electronics Recycling, Arsenal
Credit Union
, AARP of Missouri, Lowes Home Improvement and AllClear ID.
