Valley of Flowers Queen Candidate Applications Due Friday
The new queen will be crowned May 5, following the Valley of Flowers parade.
The deadline to become a 2013 Valley of Flowers queen candidate is fast approaching.
The last day to submit an application is Friday, Feb. 8.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:

- Must be 16 years old by April 30
- A junior in high school
- Resident of city of Florissant
- Have a sponsor (sponsors do not have to be a Florissant business.)
Judging for the queen contest will take place April 7 at the James J. Eagan Center, and the queen, first runner-up and three maids will be announced at the end of the Valley of Flowers parade, May 5. The queen will also receive a $1,000 scholarship.
Last year, Monica Wilson was crowned Valley of Flowers Queen.
