Power Outage Affects 300 in Florissant Area

With summer temperatures hitting the area, more than 330 residents are without power Friday afternoon.

With temperatures expected to reach in the 90s Friday, more than 330 Florissant residents have found themselves without power, according to the Ameren Missouri map.

Ameren Missouri spokesman Kent Martin said that a wire burnt in the substation of the 3500 block of Parker Spur. He said that he expects power to return before 5:45 p.m.

On Twitter, @steveoleolson wrote, “Transformer blew there are 79 households without power. Nice start to the summer season,” regarding the power outage.

Temperatures are expected to be in the 90s for most of the Memorial Day weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
