Florissant Patch Editor Aja Junior to Return This Week

After giving birth to a beautiful and healthy baby boy, your local editor is ready to jump back into the game.

As you might already be aware, Florissant Patch editor Aja Junior has been away since October getting to know her new son.

I had lunch with Aja and her baby boy last week and my first thought was that besides being absolutely adorable and surprisingly well-behaved, he looks like a perfect combination of his mom and dad.

While I know that she will miss being with her family full-time, I’m also sure she’s very excited to jump back into her role as your editor.

As we prepare for Aja's return, I want to take this opportunity to thank the community for supporting me and sticking with us during my time as interim editor.

Specifically, I’d like to thank Officer Andy Haarmann from the Florissant Police Department, Andy Quinones from the City of Florissant, Diana Gulotta and her staff from the Hazelwood School District, Jana Shortt from the Ferguson-Florissant School District, Charlene Kramer with the Old Town Florissant Partners (who just started a new blog here at Florissant Patch), many local business owners and of course all of the other community members who helped me share the news.

I’d also like to thank my fellow St. Louis-area Patch editors and regional editors, who have offered their support during these last few months.

Most of all, I’d like to thank our readers and our friends for the great Facebook conversations, comments and debates here on the site, news tips and emails and even for pointing out the occasional error. The fact is that if not for our readers; none of us would be here doing what we love. So thank you, sincerely.

Please help me offer Aja a warm welcome back to her post as your trusty editor.

As for me, I’ll still be around part-time, helping out the team and keeping up with the community via the Florissant Patch Facebook page, as well as several other closely-located Patch Facebook pages.

And, you’ll probably catch me around town doing some shopping or having a cup of coffee somewhere. Don’t be afraid to stop and say hi—I love talking to my neighbors!

Until we meet again,

Angela Atkinson, Interim Editor
