Ameren Missouri Reports Expectations of All Power Being Restored Late Tuesday

More than 1,200 residences and businesses in Florissant remain without power from Monday's storm.

As of noon on Tuesday, more than 1,200 homes in the Florissant area remained without power.

The number remaining without power is a substantial decrease as more than were without power on Monday afternoon following a severe thunderstorm.

Ameren Missouri announced earlier on Tuesday that they hope to have all power restored by Tuesday night.

β€œMore than a thousand workers are in the field to safely restore power to Ameren Missouri customers throughout the St. Louis Metro area," said Richard Mark, senior vice president of Ameren Missouri customer operations.Β  "We estimate that a majority of our customers will have power restored by late Tuesday night, despite approximately 50 broken utility poles and extensive equipment damage scattered across the region."

The National Weather Service forecasted a 30 percent chance of showers and storms on Tuesday afternoon, which increases to 60 percent on Wednesday.
