Are you ready for some football? Superbowl Sunday is around the corner, and Florissant football fans are gearing up for one of the biggest party days of the year.

Get a head start

Gear up for the Superbowl on Saturday night at ’ Superbowl Trivia Night, starting at 6 p.m. Participants can win attendance prizes and table prizes, and the game is computerized. Superbowl Trivia Night will be held in the Student Center Multipurpose room on campus.

The Superbowl Crawl in Florissant

  • ―Mattingly’s will offer 40 cent wings and $13.50 buckets for Superbowl Sunday. Guests are welcome to sit in the bar or the restaurant.
  • Deaver’s Sports Bar & Restaurant—Deaver’s Superbowl party will feature 14 flat-screen televisions with surround sound audio. Plus, during the game, Deaver’s will offer two pounds of wings and one pitcher of domestic beer for $17.99.
  • ―The Super Bowl Bash at Gettemeiers on Sunday starts at 3 p.m. Specials include $14 domestic buckets, a Macho Nacho Platter that serves four people for $9.89, pretzel bites for 19 cents each and bar burgers for $5. 
  • —A Ruiz spokesperson told Florissant Patch that the restaurant will offer Superbowl specials on beer, food and other drinks during the game.  

At-Home Superbowl Specials & Recipe Ideas

  • ―If you’d prefer to party at home, Gettemeier’s will do the cooking for you. In addition to Gettemeier’s regular party trays, Superbowl Sunday specials for takeout include a 5-foot party sandwich and wings for $8 a dozen.
  • —Schnucks has a wide variety of game day recipes available if you’re having your party at home this year. Start the afternoon off with some ultimate nachos, cheesy spinach and bacon dip and guacamole picado. Throw together some 30-minute chili, a spicy cheeseburger pizza or some queso burgers—or for more of a tailgating feel, pull out all the stops and make a St. Louis favorite—barbecued pork steaks. If you want to keep it healthy, try one of Schnucks’ 300 calories or less recipes.
  • —If you’re not into traditional game day cuisine, you might want to check out Dierbergs’ take on Superbowl Sunday treats. The grocer has shared a variety of “Big Bowl” recipes, such as Football Snackers, Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms, Big Bowl Beer Brat Bread and more.
