Ribbon Gets Snipped on Florissant's Dunkin' Donuts

City officials, former St. Louis Rams give warm welcome to newest neighbor.

Intermittent rain showers and cloudy skies throughout the morning didn’t deter a second of the .

City officials, members, residents and special guest, former St. Louis Rams player D’Marco Farr turned out for the cutting of the pink ribbon and to help .

“We’re very excited about the prospect of this new business,” Ward 3 Councilman Joe Eagan said. “We love Dunkin’.”

The store, opened by Jay Patel, is currently the only one in the North County area, which is located at 8471A Lindbergh Blvd. According to the Dunkin’ Donuts website, the only other stores in the area are in Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. Patel also owns a store in Washington, MO.

“We hope to bring a variety of food to the community,” Patel said. “There’s a good resident base in this community.”

Tom DiCarlo, who owns the building where Dunkin’ Donuts and is located, said he was excited to bring a new business offering to the Florissant community.

“Dunkin’ Donuts gave us a reason to invest capital into this building,” he said. “At the end of the day, it’s about bringing in good, solid small businesses to the community.”

Patel said he knew he wanted to bring the store to the Florissant market and searched up and down Lindbergh before settling in a spot next to Penn Station and across from .

He also said he plans to open eight other stores in St. Louis in the next six to seven years.

The restaurant has also had a hand in making great contributions to the Florissant community.

The store provided a $1,000 donation to the TEAM food pantry, and volunteers of the pantry were on hand to take monetary and canned good donations.

In addition, residents have an opportunity to make donations to the pantry by bringing canned goods to the restaurant Friday through Sunday. Bins are placed in the front door for residents and can receive a voucher for a free medium hot coffee.

The Florissant Dunkin’ Donuts opens at 5 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. On Sundays, it’s open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
