Restaurant Inspections: St. Louis Bread Co. Inspected for Soup Complaint

We’re changing up our restaurant inspections a tad bit.

We've expanded our inspections to surrounding areas, including Creve Coeur, Maryland Heights and Hazelwood. 

Each week, Florissant Patch publishes information from the local restaurant inspections of St. Louis County Department of Health as well as their grade.

Here are the latest restaurant inspections for the past 90 days: 

Hooter’s
Address: 2675 N. Highway 67, Florissant
Date of Inspection: Oct. 11
Type of Inspection: Routine
Risk Factor: 3
Grade: 99-A
Comments: Inspector noted cooler being serviced and ice is being used for drop pans; floor is being re-grouted in sections.

Saint Louis Bread Company
Address: 2375 N. Highway 67, Florissant
Date of Inspection: Oct. 18
Type of Inspection: Complaint
Risk Factor: 3
Grade: 100-A
Comments: Health inspector received complaint that mother and daughter had become ill after eating cream of chicken wild rice soup on Oct. 16. The inspector spoke to the manager and found that the soup is held for 48 hours, and it’s delivered three times per week. No other complaints had been received for soup. Inspector did find that the drive-thru soup was not holding its appropriate temperature, so it was pulled and reheated.

McDonald’s Restaurant
Address: 8700 Pershall Rd., Hazelwood
Date of Inspection: Oct. 8
Type of Inspection: Routine
Risk Factor: 2
Grade: 95-A
Comments: No proof of Hepatitis A immunization records; food not covered in cooler; no protective shield over light bulb; health permit is more than 90 days past due.

Comments: Inspector saw two insects flying around the dessert display case over uncovered food; thermometer reading inaccurately in cooler; debris found under storage shelves and inside all drawers and cooler and freezer.
