Restaurant Inspections: Papa Johns Gets Violation Letter

Also, O'Charley's gets complaint for not handling food properly.

O’Charley’s
Address: 13971 New Halls Ferry Rd., Florissant
Date of Inspection: March 18
Type of Inspection: Complaint
Risk Factor: 3
Grade: 100-A
Comments: Someone complained to the health department that the servers at O’Charley’s did not properly handle food. According to the report, the customer saw an employee put her fingers in her mouth while preparing plates and silverware and saw another employee eat in the food preparation area and proceed to touch hair, nose and face and serve food to customers. Inspector spoke to management about the complaint and reviewed policies with management; the inspector did not notice any employees committing violations while there.

Papa John’s Pizza
Address: 12735 New Halls Ferry Rd., Florissant

Type of Inspection: Follow-up

Grade: 96-A
Comments: Hepatitis A records found to be incomplete. Violation letter will be issued for non-compliance and a follow-up inspection will be scheduled. If not corrected by follow-up date further action will be taken and could result in closure of restaurant.

Angelo’s Chicago Taste
Address: 5908 N. Lindbergh Blvd., Hazelwood

Comments: Raw meat stored above ready-to-eat foods in reach-in cooler but was removed and restored; food items noticed in Pepsi cooler; equipment not properly washed and sanitized, and inspector explained the proper procedures to employees.

Comments: Inspector noticed cashier has a lot of hair on side of her face and manager made her put it up; walk-in cooler’s door gasket is torn.
