Restaurant Inspections: Florissant Fish and Chicken Closes from Violations

Also, Dairy Queen has complaint filed regarding a rodent.

Dairy Queen
Address: 2678 N. Highway 67, Florissant
Date of Inspection: Oct. 9
Type of Inspection: Complaint
Risk Factor: 2
Grade: 100-A
Comments: Customer complained that she saw a rodent enter the building through a gap in the back door. Manager explained that the restaurant is serviced regularly by pest service, and inspector found no evidence of rodents. Inspector also noticed no gaps on the outside.

Florissant Fish and Chicken
Address: 2575 N. Highway 67, Florissant
Date of Inspection: Oct. 9
Type of Inspection: Complaint

Grade: 100-A
Comments: A customer complained that her and her husband became ill after eating catfish nuggets and fries that they purchased from the restaurant on Oct. 5. An inspector came for a routine inspection of the establishment and found a number of health and safety violations that were a risk to the public. Inspector and manager determined restaurant must shut down until violations are corrected. The restaurant must be re-inspected by the health department before reopening.

Comments: Mold-like substance has been formed on the interior surfaces of the ice machine.

Comments: Inspector noted that the refrigeration units were in working condition, but they didn’t have any food to check the temperatures. The inspector notes that he’ll return to check the refrigeration and Hepatitis A records.

Comments: Inspector noticed employee handling ready-to-eat products with gloves or tongs; insects, animals present; no test strips given to check sanitizing concentration; no covered receptacle in women’s restroom.
