UPDATE: North County Businesses Closed, Shutting Down Early for Weather

With inclement winter weather on the way, several area businesses have closed up shop early.

With inclement weather in the forecast, many North County businesses have decided to take their own snow day by shutting down early or not even opening.

Florissant businesses were taking to social media and the Internet early Thursday morning to notify customers of closures.

Mario’s Pizza announced on its Facebook page that they would be closed for the day as well as Plato’s Closet, Andrea's Boutique and BigFoot 4x4 Inc.

de.lish Cheesecake Bakery and Café announced they would be open for lunch and would shut down at 2:30. The St. Louis Louis County Library announced all branches, including Florissant Valley, Jamestown Bluffs and Prairie Commons, would close at noon.

St. Louis Community Credit Union closes at 11 a.m.

Cakes by Nette at Jamestown Mall wrote on Facebook, "The jury is still out on whether I will open today...PLEASE call before you come all the way out there. I will keep FB updated as well as change the VM on the phone to let you know."

Hazelwood Bowl wrote on Facebook that they haven't made a decision yet but  already cancelled league for Thursday night.

The University of Missouri-St. Louis announced it would close its campus at 10:55 a.m. for the weather.

The City of Florissant announced on Facebook that City Hall as well as the James J. Eagan Center and John F. Kennedy Center and activities will shut down at 2 p.m., but they posted at 12:30 p.m., that facilities would now close at 1 p.m.

Both the Hazelwood Community Center and Civic Center East have closed due to the winter snow storm. All activities planned for those facilities on Thursday have been canceled. 

The Boxing Gym has announced its open gym and classes have been cancelled for the evening.

St. Louis Outlet Mall has decided to close early today as well. Cabela's however will remain open all day.

Cindy, My (93 old) mom lives in the Walnut grove neighborhood and just got her phone back yesterday.Read More Florissant told her they would NOT come by. There are several neighbors with mounds of limbs on Milbank and Wadsworth. This has to be an error. Can you followup on this?

Paul I am sorry I just got the message, If you did not get your problem solve, call City Hall again,Read More Because I was told you would be put on a list for limbs being pick up, Call 921-5700, let them know what your mom has.
