"Hendel's in an awesome escape," said Laura B. on Yelp. "It's nestled in an historic neighborhood in Old Town Florissant, not far in distance from the ghetto of Florissant but worlds away in atmosphere. The restaurant is a beautiful historic two storied brick building with a patio off the side. It's different than I remember, but I've been coming here since kindergarten—seriously."
"Just been here once, for brunch, but I was impressed by the charming space, the reasonable prices, solid waitstaff, and the above average food," said Daniel F. "In an area that to my knowledge offers little except more pedestrian chains, this is definitely a place to visit. Just a few blocks off Lindbergh but, thankfully, a world away."
The restaurant is also great for large groups or parties.
"We had our Wedding rehearsal dinner in the beer garden at Hendel's Market in June this past year," said one user on Urban Spoon. "It was amazing. The food was excellent and the service was out of this world. We had scheduled our dinner just as the day turned to evening and we found it to be an intimate setting with the table arrangement and the lighting. They accommodated us easily with our 30+ party and it was a night we will never forget. Our guests raved about the food and our choice to have the dinner there. We were very pleased and highly recommend Hendel's to everyone we know."
