Google Maps Car Makes its Rounds Around Florissant for Photos

The car has been spotted by several residents taking photos for the street view of Google Maps.

Of the hundreds of cars that travel Florissant’s roadways daily, one car in particular has been making its way around town this past week.

Several residents have spotted the Google Maps car traveling around town, according to reactions on our Facebook page. From Washington to Graham Road, several people have seen the car around town.

The latest sighting, according to our Facebook page, came Wednesday when the car was seen near Duchesne Park, Graham Road as well as Waterford Drive.

Some have even noticed changes to Google Maps already. 

Christine Jarzenbeck Jones wrote, "They were on Santa Cruz/Claire on Sunday. I checked Google Maps Street View of my address today and the satellite picture has been updated to the image they got on Sunday."

The Google Maps Car is a part of the company’s efforts to capture photographs for its Street View, which can be seen in Google Maps. The photos are “stitched” together to create a panoramic view as well as a cohesive view for those looking for an address in the maps system.

According to the latest tracking of the Google Maps cars, it shows that it is currently in St. Louis and Pemiscot for Missouri.
