Fourth of July: What's Open, Closed Around Florissant

Find out what area businesses and offices will be closed for Independence Day and Friday.

As the Florissant area celebrates the Fourth of July with this long weekend, many local businesses are changing their hours or giving employees a much needed break.

The following is a list of what Patch found to be open and closed Thursday and Friday, July 4-5.

  • Florissant City Hall will be closed both Thursday and Friday.Β 
  • Florissant city offices and services, including the James J. Eagan Center and John F. Kennedy Community Center,Β will be closed Thursday but will reopen for regular hours Friday.Β 
  • Bangert Pool and Koch Family Aquatic Park will have a limited schedule for the Fourth of July, 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. but will be open for regular business hours Friday.
  • Hazelwood School District will be closed for the Fourth of July but will be open for enrollment of new students Friday at 8 a.m.
  • All area Schnucks stores will be open for regular business hours Thursday and Friday.
  • All area Walgreens will be open for regular business hours Thursday and Friday.
  • The Saint Louis Zoo will be open Thursday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Post offices will be closed and mail carriers will have Thursday off, but the postal service schedule resumes Friday, as well as mail delivery.
  • All branches of the St. Louis County Library system will be closed Thursday but will reopen Friday morning.
