Dunkin' Donuts to Host Large Grand Opening Celebration

The new coffee and bakery establishment will hold a ribbon cutting with Fredbird, D'Marco Farr and the Florissant mayor on hand.

Dunkin’ Donuts has plans to wake up the residents of Florissant early Friday morning with a good cause in mind.

Beginning at 6 a.m., the new restaurant on Lindbergh will celebrate its grand opening and make a large contribution to the Florissant community as it will be taking donations toward food pantry.

For canned goods donated during the morning, volunteers will hand out vouchers for a free medium coffee, and the first 500 customers who donate to the pantry will receive a travel mug.

The restaurant has taken it a step further and has said it will donate $1,000 to the pantry.

"I am proud to serve the hard-working people of Missouri and hope that the will become a popular destination and an everyday ritual for guests looking for high-quality coffee, baked goods and snacks,” owner Jay Patel said in a press release.

There will be a number of festivities and local celebrities on hand during the celebration including Mayor Tom Schneider, Fredbird of the St. Louis Cardinals and Super Bowl champion D’Marco Farr.

WXOS will be broadcasting from Dunkin Donuts, 9 -11 a.m. The ribbon cutting is scheduled for 9 a.m.
