Customer Review of Pearl Cafe: 'Call Me Obsessed'

Florissant Patch readers and users from other restaurant review sites weigh in on Pearl Cafe.

You know the feeling when you like a restaurant so much and you're in that awkard phase where you go to it way too often?

Pearl Cafe in Florissant seems to be one of those places. At least, that seems to be the case made by those reviewing the restaurant.

Pearl Cafe was voted Best Thai Restaurant 2010 by the Riverfront Times. They offer authentic Thai cuisine like Tum-Yum Soup, Drunken Noodle and Pad Thai, plus 20 different types of Asian beer with a total of 35 kinds of beer all told.

Florissant Patch recently took a look at the restaurant's reviews on sites such as Yelp and Urban Spoon. Most were happy to have found or come back to Pearl Cafe, which is located at 8416 N Lindbergh Blvd.

"I have cravings for this place once a week. There was even a time when I'd come here some 3-4 times a week... call me obsessed!" said Lynn Y. on Yelp. "Not only is the staff friendly and willing to accommodate to your needs (Owner is super cool and hilarious!), but the food is incredible! Fresh ingredients, crisp and cool spring rolls, and if you'd like a nice spicy kick- they can definitely pack in the heat in your dish! I always leave this place wanting more."

"Finally, good Thai food. Really good thai food. I feel like it's been months since I had anything that anywhere near resembles quality Thai," said Melissa T.

About the only problem customers seemed to have with Pearl Cafe was the staff's ability to feel rush.

"During our last visit, my boyfriend and I were practically helped out of the door before we were finished with our food," said Dez E. "I understand that the restaurant is small, and I understand that several customers were in and out. However, I also understand what it means to continuously build a positive rapport with your loyal, regular customers. My boyfriend and I hadn't even finished our food when we realized that staff members were eyeing us down as if they wanted us to shove our remaining food down our throats, pay, and leave."
