Great Central US ShakeOut

On Tuesday, several students and Florissant residents will learn all about how to avoid a case of the shakes in the Great U.S. Central Shakeout.

More than one million people will participate in the Great Central U.S. ShakeOut, which focuses on teaching safety in the event of an earthquake.ย 

More than 350,000, including more than 200,000 students, are expected to take part in the earthquake drill.

Missouri is one of nine states participating in the Greatย Central U.S. ShakeOut.

Several Florissant schools, including , ย and all schools in the , will participate in the drill at 10:15 a.m. and at other times during the day.

Feb. 7 marks the 200th anniversary of the largest earthquake in our state's history, according to a press release from the .
